Poverty of Spirit

Many of us know what it is like to live in poverty. There are people in the world that live material poverty to align themselves with those our Savior aligned Himself. What is “spiritual poverty?” My understanding of spiritual poverty is the ability to empty yourself completely before God, knowing that he fills that gap with his love and graces. I remember in my studies for EMS, we were taught the technique for packing a wound. Sterile gauze sometimes needs to be jammed tightly inside of a gaping flesh wound to stop the bleeding. I hope that I am always emptying myself deep enough for Jesus to pack in the graces!!! Saint Daniel the Stylite, Pray for us!!!!!!
