Our Lady of Loretto

Today is my Birthday. I was always disappointed that there was no Saint day on the calendar on my natal day. I was thrilled when Pope Francis added the feast day of Our Lady of Loretto to the Roman Calendar in 2019. Pope St. John Paul II stated that the Holy House of Loretto is an Icon, in that, it draws the faithful into the depths of religious symbolism. When you look at an Icon, and meditate on it, you notice new things, small or large, that touch your soul. Recognizing that Jesus like us, lived in time and in a humble home joins us to him on a level of spiritual brotherhood. A childhood home evokes strong memory connections and the Holy House of Loretta links our family home to the blessings of the home of the Holy Family.
